The new school year brings back a welcomed routine. Caileigh is in first grade, somehow that is harder for me than Kindergarten. It seems so much older than Kindergarten! Caileigh still LOVES school, for which we are really thankful. She is back at Heritage Academy and has a teacher whom we LOVE! They are the trial class for using excercise balls as seats. Caileigh likes it and says her brother would be jealous. I can't imagine teaching a classroom full of little bobbing heads. :-) Caileigh says they have had to learn a "teaching bounce" and and a "break bounce."
Emma likes being the BIG sister during the day. She misses Caileigh but I also think she likes getting to play what she wants to play and how she wants to play. After rest though, she can't wait for Caileigh to get home! During Connor's nap we do a little "school" work. She looks forward to that time every day and amazes me the things she already knows and how quickly she picks up new things. She is such a big helper and really likes helping with chores. She loves her little brother so well and seems to enjoy him as her little playmate. They constantly crack each other up and I LOVE it!
Connor when not creating messes is a mess himself. The kid is ornery! I thought Emma was, she was nothing like him. Man oh man does he have a temper! He throws himself down on the ground when I tell him no or when a sister won't give him a toy he wants. Oh man do I have my work cut out! I'm looking forward to cooler weather so we can spend a lot more time outdoors. He loves the outdoors and we never seem to spend long enough time out there for him. His new favorite is to run- yes we run now, up behind his sisters (especially Emma), wrap his arms around her and pull her down to the ground where they wrestle and giggle until the sister gets free and he goes after her again. He often chases after the girls growling like a lion and they run screaming and hiding from him until he finds them and everyone starts giggling. There is always lots of noise in the house unless everyone is asleep!
Afterschool programs are back in full swing, so Stephen stays very busy! He enjoys it though!
I welcome the consistent routine and am looking forward to our fall Bible study starting up soon as well as MOPS and a Relay Exchange Bible study that Caileigh and I will be a part of this year with some other 1st grade moms and daughters from church.
August 2014, marked the 3 year anniversary of us moving to Augusta.
