Picking back up... April 2013, brought the Master's and with it being so close to our baby boy's due date we stayed home. Thanks to our brother in law, John, Stephen was able to get tickets for himself and his brother, Jason to one of the practice rounds. They had such a good time - unfortunately, no pictures were taken! We also spent the week off turning a once pink nursery, turned into a huge walk in closet back into a nursery, but for a boy. Filling a room with blues and reds and LOTS of baseball memorabillia made it very real that we were about to have a little boy in our family. So much fun!

We also worked hard on making our little front yard look nice. By we, I mean Stephen and his dad dug up all the weeds and layed down grass seed and hay. I did plant a flower bed along the little wrought iron fence. We had a man walking by stop and ask if we had rabbits... I suppose it did look a little out of place for awhile, but so did he to be honest, he was wearing a white jump suit. We have seen stranger things but you never know.

Easter 2013 |
April also meant our Caileigh bug turned 5 years old!!! How is that even possible? I'm not really sure. She no longer has any "baby" left, so tall and lean and beautiful! So eager to learn and help around the house. So easy to talk to that I often forget she is only five. So thoughtful and caring towards her little sister. She loves to be crafty and I am constantly trying to come up with ideas for her to make. She wants to learn to sew. Any suggestions for first projects?

We celebrated her birthday with a sweet Cinderella themed party with several friends. Aunt Laura dressed up as Cinderella (before the ball) and the girls had to follow clues to help Cinderella complete her chores (crafts) and get ready for the royal ball. I think they had a good time and Aunt Laura was a great Cinderella!
She's into posing...

So thankful for sweet friends! |
May, and that means it is time for our baby boy's arrival! We think we are ready. :-) Sunday, May 12, 2013 (Mother's Day) I was pretty sure he was coming, but hesitant since a few days earlier we had a false alarm. We stayed home from church as contractions were very regular and intense. Late that afternoon we went to the hospital. Laura and John stayed with the girls. After making sure this was the real deal, I was admitted. Connor Luke made his entrance into this world at 1:59 am Monday, May 13, 2013! He was 8 lbs 4 oz and 21 inches long. His heart stopped twice in the womb and his temperature took awhile to get where it was supposed to be - but he was healthy and here!

Connor was our screamer! |

This is LOVE at first sight! |
Connor's name comes from Stephen's paternal grandmother. Her maiden name was O'Connor and she and Stephen shared a special love for Ireland. His middle name, Luke is in honor of my maternal grandfather, Luther Zimmerman, a very godly man, whom Stephen and I both admire and love very much.

The first two weeks home with our new little guy we did a lot of resting and playing in the backyard before our summer got crazy busy!

so sweet amy! marit and i have done a couple beginning sewing projects to make animal shaped pillows. She got a kit for Christmas from my sister, but i think they have them at target. it has a blunt needle and holes already punched, so it was pretty easy to catch on. welcome back to the blogging world:)
